Interview with Trio Kavanah by Voyage Dallas
We caught up with Danny, Grace, and Trevor and asked them why they are presenting a free recital on March 2 at The Winspear downtown.
DANNY GOLDMAN, CLARINET
Danny Goldman is the clarinetist in Trio Kavanah--clarinet, violin, piano--an ensemble that seeks to share classical music with the masses; they utilize creative venue spaces and new technology to bring audiences closer to the stage than ever before. Recent performances include The Winspear Opera House and The AT&T Performing Arts Center; the 2018-19 season includes a Steinway Hall tour and performances at The Eisemann Center's Bank of America Hall, Reunion Tower, and ArtSpace 111.
Recent chamber music performances include Brahms' Clarinet Quintet with The Amaryllis Quartet, Schoenbergs' Pierrot Lunaire with The New Fromm Players at Tanglewood Music Center, and Barber's Summer Music at The Basically Beethoven Festival. Concerto performances include The Louisville Orchestra, New Juilliard Ensemble, and The World Youth Symphony Orchestra. Danny also performs Dixieland and Klezmer; most recent concerts were with The Trinity River Dixie Kings and The Best Little Klezmer Band of Texas.
Danny is a member of The Dallas Opera Orchestra and is also its liaison to the Board of Directors. Other orchestral performances include The Philadelphia Orchestra, Louisiana Philharmonic, Las Vegas Philharmonic, Louisville Orchestra, Pacific Music Festival Orchestra, The IRIS Orchestra, Dallas Chamber Symphony, and The Spoleto Festival Orchestra. He has performed with conductors including James Levine, Christoph Eschenbach, Lorin Maazel, and Zubin Mehta.
Danny holds a Bachelor's Degree from The Juilliard School and a Master's Degree from Rice University.
